Loubieh bi lahmeh w riz "green beans with meat and rice"
Loubieh bil lahmeh w riz or Green beans with meat and rice : This is another green healthy dish in most of the Lebanese cuisine. We have a variety of vegetables with meat and rice maybe not so splendid but they are nutritious and prepared frequently. It is fulfilling for the family especially kids, they love the combination. When my kids were young, I remember this dish makes it easy for me to serve as well for them to eat it all with joy.
Prep. time: 20 mins Cooking time : 50 mins
Serves: 4 to 5
1 kg green beans
400 grams tender chunk beef or lamb
2 tbsp oil
1 onion chopped
4 garlic gloves chopped
3 medium tomatoes peeled and chopped
1/4 sweet red pepper cut into pieces
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp paprika
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 cup water
PREPARATION: Clean the green beans if fresh from the edges "top and tail" then break in half and wash well. In a large cooking pot put the oil, add the onion and garlic and sauté over medium heat until light golden. Add the meat and stir until well done. Put the tomatoes and stir for few mins then add the beans, the water, the salt, the allspice, the red pepper pieces and the spice. Cover and let it simmer stirring occasionally for 45 to 50 mins or depends the kind of beans you are using, it might take less.
Serve it with rice and vermicelli noodles, I already posted the recipe in sheikh lmehshi and many other recipes with rice.
